East Lake Elementary strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for anyone who may walk through its doors. East Lake Elementary works hard to connect with its community, values the importance of discourse in the classroom, engagement, and fosters a life-long love of learning. Students are inspired by its dual language program and cultural arts focus which encourages all to be a part of an everchanging world as bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural individuals. Learners research other cultures and languages to learned about their roots, way of living, customs, and arts. Using a variety of academic and enrichment activities, these programs promote a high level of academic achievement, cultivate talents and interests, develop the creativity of the mind and body, refine feelings and reflect and represent the customs and values of its diverse community.

The teachers and staff at Ventura Elementary work diligently to promote a positive, student-centered learning environment, focusing on helping students grow academically, behaviorally, and socially. Lessons are focused on college and career readiness and designed to make learning hands-on, collaborative, and inquiry based. Ventura provides students the opportunity to prepare for college and career through our AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and become bilingual and bi-literate through our Dual Language Program. This school year, we are adding a Medical Science and Technology learning track so that all students, K-5, can learn about fitness, wellness, sports medicine, coding, cybersecurity, and robotics. Our goal is to foster a love for learning and guide students in preparing for college and careers.
